Hydrogen - The Hydrogen is a powerful, low cost Power over Ethernet (PoE) Touch computer featuring a 4.3" touch screen LCD.
Utilizing a low power yet extremely versatile Marvell PXA270 embedded processor, the energy-efficient Hydrogen provides excellent hardware performance
in a stylish enclosure. This feature-rich unit provides a wide variety of connectivity options such as USB 2.0, MMC, 10/100 Ethernet, wireless 802.11 a/b/g
and multiple RS232 ports. The Hydrogen integrates either a 1D or 2D barcode scanner, making it a convenient package for price checking or access control
applications. Optional magnetic stripe or smart card (RFID) readers provide additional flexibility. The Hydrogen also supports dry-contact output and
general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins for controlling door locks, motors, turnstiles, cash boxes or boom gates. Due to the low power nature of the board,
a fan or heat sink is not required and heat-related issues are non-existent. The fanless system coupled with a stable operating system (WinCE or Linux) allows
the Hydrogen to be a very robust solution, minimizing costly downtime.
PoE support provides extreme flexibility in the placement of the Hydrogen. The unit is not bound by the existence of an AC outlet. With the use of a PoE router, the Hydrogen can be deployed anywhere and can be relocated freely.

If PoE is not a requirement, the Hydrogen can be powered with a 12 volt AC adapter. Boundary Devices can also provide custom versions of the Hydrogen. The enclosure
can be customized with different colors or logos. In some instances, the single board computer can also be customized with different connectors and, potentially, different
components to add or subtract functionality from the unit for cost savings or performance reasons. The angle of the scanner is defaulted to 45 degrees, but can also be modified for the desired application.
The Hydrogen can be mounted using any VESA 75 mounting provision.
