There are many advantages to PoE, especially in these markets. First, it allows the retail stores to save money by eliminating the need for AC outlets, which can be quite costly to install.

The Touch Computer can easily interface with a barcode scanner to create a PoE price checking unit. Standalone price checking is a growing trend in the retail market. When the price checking application is in stand-by mode, advertisements can be streamed to the unit to essentially pay for itself. It is a digital sign and price checker all in one. The touch screen support allows for user-interaction, which can be used to trigger the price checking application, or have customers enter data manually.
